Ethiopian Minister Names Country's High-Potential Investment Frontier
To unlock the significant potential of its livestock industry, the Ethiopian government is undertaking major reforms, Tsigereda Fekadu, Lead Executive of the Ministry of Agriculture's Livestock and Fishery Resources Development (LFRD), said.
The government offers:
🟠land access;
🟠tax holidays;
🟠thorough implementation guidance.
Tsigereda described the sector as lucrative in terms of investment, noting its 26% contribution to agricultural GDP and its importance for employment.
The LFRD is improving feed production and supply, breed quality, and livestock transportation to boost domestic and export markets, she added.
She also highlighted the veterinary sector as "a prime area" for investment.
"There are substantial opportunities, especially in the production and distribution of veterinary medicines and vaccines," Tsigereda noted.
