"We see that the number of cases is still increasing both in terms of suspected and confirmed cases," Deputy Incident Manager for Mpox at Africa CDC Yap Boum warned.
Key information about the surge of Mpox cases in Africa:
▪over 39,800 suspected cases in three months of 2025;
▪over 9,000 confirmed cases in three months of 2025;
▪over 2,760 new suspected cases were reported last week;
▪over 500 confirmed cases and 13 related deaths last week.
