Putin and US Special Envoy Witkoff are holding talks in St. Petersburg
What's known so far?
▫The negotiations are being held in a closed format, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said;
▫The parties immediately moved on to negotiations, omitting formalities, he added;
▫Putin's meeting with Witkoff is an opportunity for Russia to convey its concerns to US President Donald Trump;
▫Witkoff's current visit is his third to Russia;
▫Earlier in the day, Trump said that Russia "has to get moving" to settle the conflict in Ukraine because too many people are dying every week.
