Rwanda Secures Record $3.2 Bln in 2024 Investments, Nearing National Transformation Strategy Goals
In 2024, Rwanda attracted 32.4% more investment than in the previous year, the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) said in its recently released annual report.
"We remain dedicated to attracting over $3 billion in new investments, continuing to enhance Rwanda's reputation as Africa's premier business destination," RDB CEO Jean-Guy Afrika outlined plans for 2025.
To enhance investment growth, the RDB will focus on improved services, expanding special economic zones, and comprehensive digitization of investment processes, according to Afrika.
Main sectors driving investment in 2024:
▫Manufacturing, $1.35 billion;
▫Financial and insurance, $811.2 million;
▫Real estate, $377.7 million.
According to Rwanda's National Strategy for Transformation 2024-2029, sustained growth will require strong investment, with private investment expected to reach 21.5% of GDP ($4.6 billion) by 2029.
