The second round of talks on normalizing the work of Russian and US diplomatic missions concluded with a positive atmosphere, said Ambassador to the United States Alexander Darchiev, who represented Moscow at the meeting.
"The next round of bilateral expert consultations on normalizing the work of the diplomatic missions of Russia and the United States was held in a positive atmosphere and allowed us to move forward in solving this task set by the presidents of the two countries," the Russian ambassador told reporters.
More statements from the Russian diplomat on the talks in Istanbul:
The delegations' heads pointed out that there were serious irritants from the previous US administration that need to be eliminated;
The sides agreed on further measures to facilitate the movement of diplomats in the host country;
Russia emphasized the priority of returning its diplomatic property confiscated by the US, Moscow's readiness to work on the roadmap;
The diplomats exchanged notes fixing the agreement on guarantees of unimpeded banking services for diplomatic missions;
The dates of the next round of Russian-US consultations are currently being specified.
"Following the discussion, the initiatives put forward by the parties will be worked out in order to reach new agreements by the next round of consultations, the dates of which are currently being clarified," Darchiev pointed out.
