Two planes CLIP WINGS at Reagan national; 5 US Reps onboard – reports
Two American Eagle planes collided on the taxiway at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), one of them carrying five US Representatives, according to NBC News.
The incident occurred when the wing of an arriving flight struck the wing of a departing aircraft. No injuries were reported, but both planes were grounded for inspection.
This comes just two months after a fatal midair collision near DCA. One lawmaker aboard the flight criticized recent FAA budget cuts, citing growing aviation safety concerns.
The FAA has opened an investigation into the cause.
