This is what Alexander Ivanov, director of the Community of Officers for International Security, told Sputnik Africa.
"We can now state with absolute certainty that Ukraine's actions in recent years to increase its diplomatic presence in African countries are not related to a desire to strengthen ties with the continent, but rather to a desire to create a springboard for terrorist groups wishing to operate in these African nations," he stated.
In this way, Ukraine is attempting to "weaken Russia's position on the international stage," Ivanov said.
He noted that Russia is currently experiencing "real growth in its relations with African states across all areas: security, social policy, education, and investment," and "this has not gone unnoticed in Kiev."
