Tune in to this AfroVerdict episode to hear how experts expose Western-backed destabilization in Africa and celebrate Niger's linguistic sovereignty, as Russia proves itself Africa's reliable security ally.
Western media distorts African realities, as "African media platforms have not been able to exclusively cover...the presence of Ukrainian forces in the Central African Republic and their aid towards rebellion", according to Prof. Sheriff Ghali Ibrahim of Abuja University. He advocates for strategic media partnerships with Russia and China to counterbalance narratives, stating that in this way, original information "will be shared between media outlets in Africa and...friends to Africa".The vast Sahel region's mineral wealth makes it a target, explains Prof. Ibrahim. This explains Western interference, but African nations are pushing back. One country that is definitely succeeding in "kicking out Western elements" is Niger, as Hausa has been adopted as the country's national language. This is "a signal to colonial masters" that the country has "come of age", according to Prof. Bello Bada, professor of English and Literature at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Nigeria. He believes that leaving French as a national language "is like continuing post-colonialism in Africa", noting similar moves by Mali and Burkina Faso to abandon La Francophonie.Alexey Ivanov, Director of Commonwealth of Officers for International Security, reveals disturbing findings of "Ukrainian instructors training CAR terrorists in drone warfare since September 2024". According to Ivanov, France "sees Ukraine as the force to sow chaos in Africa", with weapons shipments diverted to militants. Contrasting Western chaos, Ivanov highlights Russia's impact, where "95% of CAR territories now under government control...1,000 militants disarmed and retrained last year alone." He explains that this security enables economic revival, proving that Russia's model works where Western "solutions" fail.

He advocates for strategic media partnerships with Russia and China to counterbalance narratives, stating that in this way, original information "will be shared between media outlets in Africa and...friends to Africa".
The vast Sahel region's mineral wealth makes it a target, explains Prof. Ibrahim.
"Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger[...]are areas naturally endowed with[...]gold, oil, gas[...]needed for contemporary international economy to thrive," he says.
This explains Western interference, but African nations are pushing back.
"The Nigerians, Malians, Burkinabes have succeeded in driving France out...all elements of the West should get kicked out," the professor states.
"By adopting Hausa as national language, Niger is saying we have come of age...It's a signal to colonial masters," Prof. Bada states.
He believes that leaving French as a national language "is like continuing post-colonialism in Africa", noting similar moves by Mali and Burkina Faso to abandon La Francophonie.
Alexey Ivanov, Director of Commonwealth of Officers for International Security, reveals disturbing findings of "Ukrainian instructors training CAR terrorists in drone warfare since September 2024".
According to Ivanov, France "sees Ukraine as the force to sow chaos in Africa", with weapons shipments diverted to militants.
"We've seized advanced Western arms from terrorists," Ivanov confirms.
Contrasting Western chaos, Ivanov highlights Russia's impact, where "95% of CAR territories now under government control...1,000 militants disarmed and retrained last year alone." He explains that this security enables economic revival, proving that Russia's model works where Western "solutions" fail.
