AU Urges US to Reconsider Tariffs Threatening Trade Ties
Washington should "strengthen, not strain," the longstanding partnership with the continent, AU Commission chairman Mahamoud Ali Youssouf told a Western news agency.
The tariffs have hit key African exporters hard—Lesotho faces 50%, while South Africa, Madagascar, and Botswana are facing 30% or more. The AU is urging a policy shift to preserve shared progress.
