Zimbabwe to Suspend Tariffs on US Goods After Trump's Levies
The move aims to increase both American imports into Zimbabwe and Zimbabwean exports to the United States, according to Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Reciprocal tariffs have their advantages but should not take precedence over the friendly relations that the Republic seeks to cultivate with all countries, Mnangagwa said.
The policy shift follows Trump's April 2 announcement imposing an 18% tariff on Zimbabwean goods entering the United States. The new tariffs imposed on African nations range between 10% and 50%.
