Russian Gas May Become in Demand on African Market, African Energy Chamber Chairman Says
Africa has a strong need for gas, and Russian gas could be a key resource for power plants, petrochemicals, and industrial growth, NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber, told Sputnik.
However, Ayuk noted two key impediments to cooperation in the gas sector:
🟠 Limited affordability of supplies for African nations;
🟠 Lack of necessary gas infrastructure.
The executive chairman concluded that developing energy infrastructure for receiving, transporting, and utilizing gas is crucial.
Earlier, Dmitry Khandoga, the CEO of Gazprom Export, a subsidiary of the Russian state-owned multinational energy corporation Gazprom, said that the company sees Africa as a potential market for Russian gas.
