Ethiopia, Uganda to Deepen Bilateral Relations & Enhance Cooperation on Shared Regional Interests
The Ethiopia-Uganda Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC), which concluded in Addis Ababa, resulted in the signing of memorandums of understanding and a joint communique.
Key areas of cooperation agreed upon by high-level representatives include:
🟠 Political and diplomatic affairs
🟠 Defense and security
🟠 Economic development (including agriculture, industry, transport, infrastructure, trade, tourism, transboundary water management, and immigration)
🟠 Regional peace and security
Ethiopian Foreign Affairs Minister Gedion Timothewos emphasized that the meeting would strengthen the relationship and enhance cooperation on parliamentary engagement, Nile River Basin development, security, counter-terrorism, and combating illegal migration.
