Africans Need to Decolonize Educational System to Meet Needs & Aspirations of Continent, Official Says
The African educational system should be in line with the continent's goals, such as the African Union's Agenda 2063, which envisions an industrialized Africa, Rex Chapota, Executive Director at National Youth Council of Malawi, told Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the Pan African Youth Leadership Summit in Addis Ababa.
Questioning the reason behind removing indigenous knowledge from African universities, he argued the necessity to reintegrate it into the education system.
Chapota pointed out that African indigenous knowledge has been wrongly considered inferior, reminding that forefathers used it to predict climate patterns.
