During the meeting, both officials welcomed the strong ties of friendship between their countries, which have been further consolidated since the opening of Madagascar’s embassy in Rabat in November 2024, reiterating their commitment to deepening exchanges in the tourism sector, according to a press release from Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy.The discussions also provided an opportunity for Rajobson to announce Madagascar’s decision to honor Morocco as the guest country of honor at the 11th the International Tourism Fair Madagascar, set to take place from June 12 to 15, 2025, in Ivato.Quoted in the press release, Ammor confirmed Morocco’s keen interest in participating in this major event and expressed the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Madagascar, particularly through the imminent finalization of a Memorandum of Understanding in tourism.She further emphasized that Morocco’s selection to host the first UN Tourism Thematic Office on Innovation for Africa underscores the country’s leadership in tourism development across the continent.This office, she noted, will focus on capacity-building programs and specialized workshops for African member states, following a South-South cooperation model aligned with the Royal Vision for a unified African action.For his part, Ambassador Rajobson highlighted Morocco’s extensive expertise in tourism development and acknowledged its position as a continental leader in the sector.He also expressed Madagascar’s interest in benefiting from Morocco’s experience to bolster its own tourism industry.
