MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Kiev's strikes on civilian infrastructure of Russia confirm that Ukraine is incompetent, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Ukrainian drones attacked energy facilities in the Bryansk and Kursk regions, and an attempt to strike a gas storage facility in Crimea was prevented, the diplomat said.
"The Kiev regime's attacks on energy infrastructure facilities continue ... This is despite the fact that Zelensky publicly announced his acceptance of the Russian-American agreements reached in Riyadh on March 24 to stop attacks on civilian energy facilities. Once again, we confirm the inability of the Kiev regime to negotiate," Zakharova told reporters.

Additionally, the spokeswoman said that Russia is categorically against the deployment of peacekeeping contingents in Ukraine, noting that this is fraught with a direct clash between Russia and NATO.
Furthermore, Russia expects that the agreements reached with the US in Riyadh will be implemented and Kiev will stop violating the temporary ban on strikes on energy facilities.
"We expect that all agreements reached will be implemented, and we expect that, thanks to US assistance, Russian agricultural exports will be unblocked, and that the Kiev regime will stop violating the 30-day ban on strikes on energy facilities," Zakharova said.
The spokeswoman also explained that Russia is engaging in contacts with the United States because Ukraine banned itself from negotiating with Moscow.
"Russia is pursuing contacts with US representatives because Zelensky prohibited himself from negotiating with our country," she said.
Consultations between experts from Moscow and Washington will continue, Zakharova confirmed.
A statement following the meeting of the Russian and American expert groups was published on the Kremlin's website on Tuesday.
It says that in accordance with the agreement reached by the Presidents of Russia and the United States, the Russian and American sides agreed to ensure the implementation of the Black Sea initiative, which includes ensuring the safety of navigation in the Black Sea, the non-use of force and the prevention of the use of commercial vessels for military purposes while organizing appropriate control measures by inspecting such vessels, but the agreement will enter into force only after a number of conditions, one of which is the lifting of sanctions restrictions from Rosselkhozbank.
"I can also say that expert consultations between the Russian and US delegations will continue," Zakharova said, but did not provide any information on possible dates.
