President Daniel Chapo met with opposition leader Venancio Mondlane on Sunday evening in Maputo to discuss pressing national issues, including political reconciliation and economic stability, the presidency reported.Chapo and Mondlane addressed the ongoing political crisis following last year’s disputed elections, in which Mondlane and his supporters accused Chapo’s Frelimo party of electoral fraud. The meeting comes just weeks after Chapo signed the Political Agreement for an Inclusive National Dialogue with nine political parties, aiming to foster reconciliation and discuss key governance issues, including constitutional reforms.
