MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian aerospace forces have launched military satellites on board the Angara-1.2 carrier from Plesetsk cosmodrome, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
"On Sunday, March 16, at 1.50 pm [10.50 GMT] the combat formation of the space forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces successfully launched the lightweight class Angara-1.2 rocket carrying satellites for the Russian Defense Ministry from the State Test Cosmodrome of the Russian Defense Ministry (Plesetsk cosmodrome) in the Arkhangelsk Region," the statement of the ministry read.
The satellites were delivered into the designated orbit and taken under control of the Russian forces, the ministry said later in the day.
The launch of the carrier rocket and the delivery of the satellites took place in the usual mode, the ministry also said, adding that a stable telemetry was established and maintained with the spacecraft.
