Death Toll From Storms, Tornadoes in United States Rises to 28, Reports Say

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The death toll from the recent storms and tornadoes in the United States increased to 28, ABC News reported. Of these, 15 fatalities were related to tornadoes, the channel specified.
Tornadoes and storms that have hit the states of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas threaten approximately 138 million people. In addition, extreme weather conditions have already led to the spread of wildfires. More than 100 fires have been recorded in these areas.
In affected areas, there is a large-scale destruction of residential buildings and structures, as well as power supply disruptions. More than 300,000 consumers remain without power.
