Upcoming Friendly Russia-Zambia Match is Result of Long-Term Relationship: Sports Official

Earlier, Reuben Kamanga, General Secretary of the Football Association of Zambia, announced that the friendly match between Russia and Zambia would be held on March 25 at the Dynamo Stadium in Moscow.
Zambia and Russia have a long-standing partnership marked by program exchanges and training initiatives, solidifying over 60 years of friendship, Reuben Kamanga, General Secretary, Football Association of Zambia, told Sputnik Africa.
"Historically, Zambia is going to Russia to play in friendlies, play in competitive, you know, games, but that was way back when we had the founding father, Dr. Kaunda who was president of this country," he said.
Zambia wants to learn from Russia's infrastructure and talent development through the friendly match, Kamanga said, seeing the match as a crucial part of preparing for the World Cup qualifiers.
"We have a lot of Zambian players playing in Russia, and we want to expose as many as possible to play in the Russian League, and for us, I hope the more the players will expose the more for our football, the better for development," he said.
Kamanga expressed excitement for the upcoming friendly match, hoping it would be beneficial for both countries and help the federation's preparations for future events.
