Trump and Zelensky met in Washington on Friday in what has turned into a spat. According to Fox News, Trump "kicked Zelensky out" after a dispute and disrespectful attitude. The signing of a rare earth metals deal between Washington and Kiev was canceled. Later, a number of European leaders made statements in support of Zelensky.
Zelensky is not defending the Ukrainians, but the Atlanticist camp that wants to destroy Russia, Nikola Mirkovic, a French-Serbian essayist and humanitarian, told Sputnik Africa.
Zelensky missed US President Donald Trump's attempt to "make him come to his senses" and "make diplomacy last," Mirkovic said, adding that Zelensky didn't understand the message and didn't realize that Trump is his financial supporter.
The United States remains Kiev's greatest ally, the expert recalled, adding that Trump has levers to "force Zelensky to the negotiating table."
These include:
Cutting off the Starlink network;
Stopping sending satellite information;
Suspension of funding and arms deliveries.
The latter would harm the Ukrainian army, which is already in great difficulty due to a lack of personnel and equipment and is clearly "retreating little by little," the expert stressed.

Mirkovic deplored that the "Atlanticist political leaders of the European Union" either don't understand or refuse to see this situation.
Earlier, Western media reported that around 1:30 GMT on Tuesday, deliveries of military aid to Kiev from the United States were ceased.
