MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The administration of US President Donald Trump wants a public apology from Volodymyr Zelensky after their spat at a meeting in the White House, Bloomberg reported, citing an unnamed European official.
The meeting between Trump and Zelensky took place in Washington on Friday, and it turned into a spat. According to Fox News, Trump "threw out" Zelensky after a conflict during which the American leader felt disrespected. The signing of a deal on rare earth metals between Washington and Kiev was canceled.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in an interview with CNN, called on Zelensky to apologize after his meeting with Trump.
