A total of 8,000 members of the Democratic Republic of Congo's (DRC) Republican Guard's pedestrian, motorized, and naval units took part in the march and the parade in the Central African country's capital, Kinshasa.
On Saturday, 8,000 members of the Democratic Republic of Congo's (DRC) Republican Guard (GR) in Kinshasa participated in an endurance march across the city's main roads to prove readiness to safeguard the nation, the presidency said.

"This Saturday, 8,000 soldiers from various units of the GR stationed in Kinshasa conducted an endurance march through the main streets of the Congolese capital," the statement read.

The event concluded with a parade led by GR's commander, Major General Kabi Ephraim, who highlighted the GR's mission to protect the president, support the DRC Armed Forces (FARDC) in defending national territory, and assist the police.
"According to Major General Kabi, this third endurance march, following those in 2024 and 2023, aims to reassure the people of Kinshasa and the rest of the country that their army, the FARDC, remains ready to defend territorial integrity," the statement added.
