WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The FBI's investigation concerns $20 billion in grants under Joe Biden's 2022 program to invest in clean energy technologies, according to the report.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has questioned Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officials as part of an investigation into former US President Joe Biden's administration's $20 billion program for climate and clean energy projects, the Washington Post reported, citing sources.
The Donald Trump-appointed new EPA administrator has alleged that the funds were awarded with little oversight and has stated the agency would try to get the money back from Citibank, tasked with disbursing it.
The investigation has already reportedly led to the resignation of an experienced prosecutor.
