Earlier, US President Donald Trump issued an executive order to stop financial aid to South Africa as a response to South African land policy, which he sees as racially discriminatory against white residents in the African nation.

South Africa wants to strike a "meaningful deal" with the US on a range of issues, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said.

“The signals that we’re getting are that we need to enable the development of that process to happen—it’s inevitable that we will get together and do a deal,” Ramaphosa told Western media.
