Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday he is ready to step down if that's what it takes to achieve peace in Ukraine or get it into NATO. The Washington Post, citing members of Congress, reported on February 14 that US officials at a meeting with Zelensky in Munich offered him to sign a document that would transfer the rights to 50% of Ukraine's yet-to-be-extracted mineral resources to the US. The next day, Zelensky said that he had refused US Vice President JD Vance's request to sign the agreement. US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz expressed confidence on Friday that Zelensky would sign a mineral deal with Washington in the near future.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On February 3, US President Donald Trump said that Washington expects Kiev to guarantee supplies of rare earth metals in exchange for financial and military aid. The deal proposes giving Washington $500bn worth of natural resources, including oil and gas.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday he is ready to step down if that's what it takes to achieve peace in Ukraine or get it into NATO.
"If for peace in Ukraine you really need me to step down, I am ready. I also can trade it for NATO, if offered such conditions right away," Zelensky told a press conference broadcast by his office.
