MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On Wednesday, US President Trump criticized Ukraine's Zelensky for his unwillingness to hold elections, called him a "dictator without elections," and also suggested that Zelensky wants to keep the "gravy train" going amid the grinding conflict with Russia.
US President Donald Trump said that it was time for elections in Ukraine and time to find out what happened to US money sent to the country.

"It's time for elections. Have not had an election in a long time ... and it is also time to find out what happened with all the money ... And I would like to find ... all the money that we have been sending to Ukraine. Where is it?" Trump told reporters on Wednesday.

The US president has expressed an opinion that Moscow has the cards in the talks with Ukraine, as Russia managed to take control of a big chunk of territory.

"I think the Russians want to see the war end. And I do. I really do. But I think they have the cards a little bit, because, you know, they've taken a lot of territory, so they have the cards," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Thursday.

According to US president Donald Trump, the approval rating of Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky, whom the US leader described on Wednesday as a "modestly successful comedian," dropped to 4%.
