G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting Kicks Off in South Africa's Johannesburg

The G20 top diplomats' meeting is expected to begin with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa's opening remarks.
Hosted by Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Ronald Lamola, the event will take place under South Africa's G20 presidency theme of "Solidarity, Equity and Sustainability" until Friday.
The G20 currently comprises 19 countries, as well as the European Union, and the African Union, together representing 85% of global GDP, 75% of international trade and two-thirds of the world’s population.
The presidency of the G20 passed from Brazil to South Africa on December 1, 2024, marking the first chairmanship of an African country in the group.
