Egypt is pleased to be a member of BRICS and to cooperate with the countries of the association in the economic and political spheres, Egyptian Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk said.BRICS plays a special role as a platform where developing countries can discuss development priorities and exchange experiences in order to improve economic relations, the minister stated.According to him, membership in the association opens up "broader horizons" for the country.

BRICS is an intergovernmental organization established in 2006. Russia's 2024 presidency of BRICS began with the joining of new members. Adding to Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, it now includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, UAE and Saudi Arabia; the latter has not formalized membership but participates in BRICS meetings.
Egypt is pleased to be a member of BRICS and to cooperate with the countries of the association in the economic and political spheres, Egyptian Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk said.
