WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - US President Donald Trump, in his inaugural speech, said that the official policy of the United States from now on is to recognize only two genders—male and female. In early February, he signed an executive order banning men from participating in women's sports competitions in the United States.
The US Army said it will no longer allow transgender individuals to join the military.

"The US Army will no longer allow transgender individuals to join the military and will stop performing or facilitating procedures associated with gender transition for service members," it said on X.

The decision has immediate effect, the army added.
"Effective immediately, all new accessions for individuals with a history of gender dysphoria are paused, and all unscheduled, scheduled, or planned medical procedures associated with affirming or facilitating a gender transition for service members are paused," read the statement.
Meanwhile, this week, the US Department of Education called for the revocation of athletic honors and titles won by transgender athletes in college and high school sports, saying that the move is in full compliance with the College Sports Association's new policy to keep men out of women's sports.

Trump to Seek IOC Ban on Transgender Athletes in Women's Sports, Senator Says
Trump will also push the International Olympic Committee to completely ban transgender people from participating in women's competitions, Senator Tommy Tuberville said in early February.
On January 22, President Trump rescinded the US government's diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) policy, calling it discriminatory. The practice of "inclusiveness" can violate civil rights, Trump is convinced. The US leader also called on subordinates to encourage abandoning the DEI policy.
