CAIRO (Sputnik) - On May 9, 2025, Russia will mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, commemorating the Soviet Union's pivotal role in defeating Nazi Germany in World War II and honoring the millions who sacrificed their lives in one of the most devastating conflicts in human history.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was invited to celebrations in Moscow on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Russian Ambassador to Egypt Georgy Borisenko said in an interview with
Sputnik.
"Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, like the leaders of other BRICS countries and many other states, has been invited to celebrations in Moscow on May 9 on the occasion of victory in the Great Patriotic War," Borisenko said.
The diplomat expressed hope that the invitation would be accepted.
