CAIRO (Sputnik) - Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi talked about the advancement of significant joint endeavors, such as building a nuclear power facility and establishing a Russian industrial zone, the Kremlin said.
Trade between Russia and Egypt in 2024 amounted to $8 billion, Russian Ambassador to Egypt Georgiy Borisenko said.
"Our bilateral trade in 2024 amounted to $8 billion," Borisenko said at the Cairo International Book Fair on Monday.
The head of the Russian diplomatic mission also noted that Moscow remains the largest exporter of wheat to Egypt, with 9 million tonnes delivered in 2024.
At the end of 2023, trade between Russia and Egypt reached over $7 billion.
