The West is trying to disrupt the participation of heads of different countries in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in Moscow, Sergey Naryshkin, the director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), said in an interview with Sputnik. According to SVR chief, Western capitals understand that "their success in such actions will have a significant impact on their plans and dreams of the complete isolation of the Russian Federation." However, these attempts are one of the priorities of the foreign ministries and intelligence services of Western countries, he added. Many heads of state received an invitation to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Moscow, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov told journalists last week.

West Trying to Disrupt Celebration of 80th Anniversary of Victory, Russian Intelligence Chief Says
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russia will be glad to see everyone who wants to come to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in December 2024 during a press conference.
The West is trying to disrupt the participation of heads of different countries in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in Moscow, Sergey Naryshkin, the director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), said in an interview with Sputnik.
"Today, we already see attempts being made by a number of Western capitals to disrupt the participation of international, foreign leaders in the celebration of the anniversary of the Great Victory," Naryshkin said.
According to SVR chief, Western capitals understand that "their success in such actions will have a significant impact on
their plans and dreams of the complete isolation of the Russian Federation."
"But, of course, they fail to achieve this," Naryshkin stressed.
However, these attempts are one of the priorities of the foreign ministries and intelligence services of Western countries, he added.
