MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Kuwait Petroleum Corporation said that it had discovered large reserves of oil and associated gas at the Al-Jlaiaa field on the Persian Gulf shelf, Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported.
After the successful drilling of an exploratory well, the geological reserves of hydrocarbons at the field were estimated at 800 million barrels of oil and 600 billion cubic feet of associated
gas, the report said on Tuesday.
The preliminary area of the offshore field is estimated at 74 square kilometers, the report added.
