Altezza Travel, a destination management company headquartered in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, has ranked Namibia as the fourth-safest country in Africa to visit. The destination management company said Namibia has long been one of the most politically stable, peaceful and safest countries to visit with infrastructure that is generally good, and a tourism industry well-developed. It also highlighted that the peaceful transition of power between the three presidents contributed to the rankings.Namibia, it noted, should continue to prioritize peace and stability for economic progression, as this will not only attract tourists but also much-needed investors that will enhance economic development. It further encouraged the country’s citizens to work together in ensuring the protection of the natural resources and make Namibia a safer place for both local and international visitors, and so that Namibia can also be ranked in first place in the near future. The rankings were formulated by reviewing leading global studies from recent years, including official statistics and citizens' perceptions of personal safety.

Mauritius is ranked in first place, followed by Ghana and Zambia in third place. According to the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) in a media statement on Saturday, the ranking points to the country’s peaceful nature as Namibians but also highlights the collective effort to ensure peace and stability prevail.
It also highlighted that the
peaceful transition of power between the three presidents contributed to the rankings.
"The ministry commends the Namibian people, security clusters and law enforcement agencies and all stakeholders for fostering law and order in the country. Even though Namibia is ranked fourth, we believe that the country has the potential to be the safest country in Africa," it said.
Namibia, it noted, should continue to prioritize peace and stability for
economic progression, as this will not only attract tourists but also much-needed investors that will enhance economic development.
