DOHA (Sputnik) - In late December 2024, Israeli fighter jets launched six airstrikes on Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, which is under the control of the Houthis. The airport suffered significant damage. Shortly after, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that these strikes were only the beginning of Israel's actions.
The Yemeni movement Ansar Allah, also known as the Houthis, said it had struck the Israeli Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv with a hypersonic missile.
"We carried out a military operation against the so-called Defense Ministry of the Israeli enemy in occupied Jaffa [Tel Aviv] using a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile. The ballistic missile reached its target, and interception systems were unable to stop it," the movement said on Telegram.
