A magnitude 5.0 earthquake occurred 63 km northeast of Awash in Ethiopia's Afar region at 21:18 GMT last Thursday, at a shallow depth of 10 km, as reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
A 5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in Ethiopia, to the east of the capital Addis Ababa, early Saturday, as reported by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).
GFZ indicated that the earthquake had a shallow depth, measuring 10 km.
The region has experienced numerous minor tremors since a nearby volcano started displaying signs of a possible eruption at the beginning of the year.
