In 2024, Morocco welcomed a record 17.4 million tourists, marking a 20% jump from the previous year, with Moroccans abroad comprising nearly half of the total, according to the country's tourism ministry. The Moroccan tourism sector, which represents approximately 7% of the country’s GDP and is a vital source of jobs and foreign currency, has already surpassed its 2024 visitor targets two years early. The ministry forecasts 26 million tourists by 2030, coinciding with its co-hosting of the World Cup.Morocco's efforts to expand tourism through new air routes, destination promotion, and hotel upgrades resulted in a 7.2% increase in revenue to a record 104 billion dirhams ($10,342,872,800) from January to November, as reported by Morocco's foreign exchange regulator.
