In September, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that Beijing was ready to deepen strategic mutual trust and strengthen business cooperation with African countries.
Following a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Republic of the Congo President Denis Sassou Nguesso on Tuesday, both nations reached broad consensus on strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership. They agreed to deepen cooperation and support each other's core interests, particularly in areas of sovereignty and development.
Building on a consensus between their leaders, China and the Republic of Congo will establish a model China-Africa community with a shared future, Wang noted. The countries also pledged to strengthen the role of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, focusing on 10 key partnership action plans.
