Russia is planning to request a separate UN Security Council meeting on the issue of children in Gaza, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia said on Friday. Nebenzia slammed the countries of the West for ignoring the fate of the Palestinian children who suffer from the ongoing conflict and focusing instead on "more beneficial topics".

UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) - Out of a total of at least 43,500 people killed in Gaza since October 2023, women and children make up about 70% of the dead, the United Nations Human Rights Office reported in November.
Russia is planning to request a separate UN Security Council meeting on the issue of children in Gaza, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia said on Friday.
“We plan to request a separate meeting of the Security Council dedicated to the topic of children in Gaza, which our Western colleagues unfortunately prefer not to notice…,” Nebenzia said during a UNSC meeting devoted to the Palestinian question.
Nebenzia slammed the countries of the West for ignoring the fate of the Palestinian children who suffer from the ongoing conflict and focusing instead on
"more beneficial topics".
