A humanitarian shipment of 65,500 tons of wheat, donated by Moscow to Bamako, reached the port of Conakry in Guinea, according to the national television channel RTG. The wheat will then be transported overland to the Malian capital.Malian Ambassador to Guinea Mamadou Keita, who visited the port, noted that four warehouses were prepared to facilitate the rapid unloading of the ship.The ambassador also expressed appreciation for the "bond of brotherhood with the Russian people" and thanked Guinea for its support in handling this shipment of wheat.Between 2023 and 2024, six African countries received a total of 200,000 tons of free Russian grain. This aid was pledged by Vladimir Putin at the Russia-Africa Summit in July 2023. Of that, Bamako received 25,000 tons of wheat, covering 6% of the country's needs for this commodity.
