Cuba Honors Namibia's President With National Award of the Order of Jose Marti

A statement by the presidency on Thursday said the award to Namibia's leader was presented by the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, during an official ceremony in Havana at the Palace of the Revolution to acknowledge the significant role played by the Namibian leader.
Namibia's President Nangolo Mbumba has been honored with a National Award of the Order of Jose Marti by the Government of Cuba.
“Mbumba is the third Namibian President to receive this accolade after the Founding President Sam Nujoma, and the Late President Hage Geingob,” it read.

Namibia to Continue Supporting Cuba, President Says
The Order of Jose Marti reflects the highest acknowledgment of accomplishments that go in line with Cuba’s revolutionary principles and global solidarity.
During his three-day official visit to that country, President Mbumba laid a wreath at the Monument of the National Hero, Jose Marti, and visited the Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in Havana, among other engagements.
Mbumba returned to the country on Thursday.
