Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Zambia and the People's Republic of China were established in October 1964. Zambia was the first country in southern Africa to establish diplomatic relations with China.
Friendly cooperation between China and Zambia, now at an all-time high, celebrated its 60th anniversary this year, said Shao Hong, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, during the meeting with Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema.
China is committed to working with Zambia to implement the agreements reached by the two countries' leaders and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, said Shao.
Recalling that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Zambia, Shao noted that China is willing to deepen political mutual trust with Zambia, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthen people-to-people ties, and continue to advance the China-Zambia comprehensive strategic partnership.
