On Monday, President William Ruto proudly shared Kenya's ambitious move to host the Grammy Awards, accompanied by a cool Ksh. 500 million (around $3.9 million) already shelled out to back the bid.
It appears not every Kenyan shares his enthusiasm for rolling out the red carpet. Locals seem to think those millions might better serve the nation elsewhere—perhaps settling scores with unpaid medical interns, patching up half-completed infrastructure, or addressing other pressing concerns.
