In a recent interview with US journalist Tucker Carlson, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov issued a stern warning to the West amid escalating geopolitical tensions, emphasizing Russia's determination to protect its interests. The interview focused on the potential for future dialogue with the West amid the ongoing "hybrid" war in Ukraine.
What emerges from US journalist Tucker Carlson's interview with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is "Russia's determination," Morrocan writer Abdelhak Najib told Sputnik Africa.
Lavrov, according to Najib, "gives the impression of representing Russia that wants to find a solution" and "doesn't want to see the conflict through to its bitter end."
"Russia's hand is extended. It is open to dialogue. It could discuss with the interested parties, that is to say the West, on a possible understanding, a possible agreement. A long-term, definitive agreement, with a serious commitment on both sides," Najib explained.
The writer deplored the use of US missiles by the Ukrainian army to strike Russian territory, suggesting that dialogue does not seem to be on the agenda.
"This could lead to a large-scale human catastrophe, which could end the current world order and even end this so-called civilization," Najib warned.
The writer believes it's crucial to "find common ground with Moscow."

Najib concluded that it is necessary to try to find a compromise to satisfy both sides, otherwise the situation would only escalate, and there would be no turning back.
