Retail Fuel Prices in Tanzania Drop Amid Appreciation of National Currency: Energy Regulatory Body

According to data of the Bank of Tanzania, the local currency shilling rose by almost 3% against currencies like US dollar in one month.
Retail fuel prices for imported products in Tanzania drop amid the appreciation of the national currency, the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (Ewura) said in a statement.
Particularly, retail prices for petrol, diesel and kerosene that were delivered via Dar es Salaam Port have decreased by 1.5%, 2.3% and 3.9% respectively, the Ewura noted. This comes despite the fact that the average cost for petrol imports has risen by 7.6%, while this figure has increased by 7.1% for kerosene and by 12.8% for diesel.
