Bashar Assad has emphasized the importance of support from allies and friends in the fight against terrorism in the country during a meeting with Araghchi, the Syrian leader's office said on Sunday.
"President Assad explained that the Syrian people have been able to resist terrorism in all forms in recent years and are now more determined than ever to eradicate it, pointing out the importance of support from allies and friends in combating terrorist attacks backed from abroad," the statement read.
Araghchi, for his part, said that
Syria will defeat the terrorist groups this time, just as it has done in the past, adding that the recent resurgence of terrorist activity is part of a conspiracy by enemies to destabilize and undermine security in the Middle East, according to the Iranian government.
