Jubaland’s government has officially suspended relations with federal authorities, a Western news outlet said.On Monday, Ahmed Mohamed Islam Madobe was re-elected as president of this semi-autonomous state. The federal government opposed the election and eventually issued an arrest warrant for Madobe, an action mirrored by Jubaland, which in turn issued an arrest warrant for President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. Earlier, Jubaland reportedly canceled Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre's visit to Kismayo. Barre was to facilitate talks between President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and President Ahmed Madobe ahead of Jubaland's indirect election.

Jubaland’s Government Officially Suspends Relations With Federal Authorities, Report Says
17:52 28.11.2024 (Updated: 17:53 28.11.2024) Tensions between Somalia's federal government and Jubaland escalated after Jubaland established its own election commission, prompting Mogadishu to condemn the move. Jubaland accuses the central government of exceeding its constitutional authority.
Jubaland’s government has officially suspended relations with federal authorities, a Western news outlet said.
On Monday, Ahmed Mohamed Islam Madobe was re-elected as president of this
semi-autonomous state. The federal government opposed the election and eventually issued an arrest warrant for Madobe, an action mirrored by Jubaland, which in turn issued an arrest warrant for President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
"The Jubaland government has officially and completely suspended relations and cooperation with the Federal Government of Somalia," a regional government said, as quoted by a Western news outlet.
Earlier, Jubaland reportedly canceled Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre's visit to Kismayo. Barre was to facilitate talks between President
