Russian Scientists Began Research in Exclusive Economic Zone of Guinea: Federal Agency for Fishery

The Great African Expedition, an initiative launched by the Russian Federal Agency for Fishery, officially commenced in Kaliningrad, Russia, on August 21. The expedition is aimed at conducting scientific research in the coastal waters of 18 states of West Africa and the western part of the Indian Ocean.
Russian scientists have begun research in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Guinea, Head of the Representative Office of the Russian Federal Agency for Fishery in Morocco Mikhail Tarasov told a Russian news outlet.
"The research vessel 'Atlantida' entered the Guinean port of Conakry. Russian Ambassador to Guinea Alexey Popov and Minister of Fisheries and Marine Economy of the Republic of Guinea Fatima Camara participated at the opening ceremony of the Guinean part of the Great African Expedition," Tarasov said.
Tarasov added that the scientists from the two countries met to agree on a program for upcoming research, and representatives of the Russian community living in Guinea visited "Atlantida."
