The festival, which is one of the Tanzanian Tourism Innovation Hub (TIHub) initiatives, will combine film screenings with music, dance, art, cuisine, and climbing competitions against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, according to the festival's website.
The Kilimanjaro Film Festival (KFF), scheduled for July 2-6, 2025, in the city of Moshi, aims to significantly boost Tanzania's creative and tourism sectors, KFF's founder and director Vicensia Shule told local media.
"Film [industry] is growing [in Tanzania] and needs systems to accelerate its progress. Kilimanjaro is renowned for tourism, so we decided to establish a film festival here to help films reach an international level," the founder said.
The festival is part of a broader initiative to connect Tanzania's film and tourism industries, she emphasized.
