The visit comes amid growing Chinese investment in Morocco's infrastructure and railway sector. The North African country is also an attractive destination for Chinese electric vehicle battery manufacturers, as Morocco's automotive industry is growing rapidly.
Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed China's commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with Morocco during a brief visit to the Moroccan city of Casablanca on Thursday.
Following his state visit to Brazil, Xi made a technical stop in Morocco, where he met with Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch.
Xi expressed his cordial greetings to King Mohammed VI. He noted the positive trajectory of relations between China and Morocco, highlighting fruitful cooperation and vibrant exchanges across various sectors.

He specifically recalled the monarch's state visit to China in 2016, which marked a significant step forward in the bilateral relationship.
The Chinese leader emphasized his country's readiness to collaborate with Morocco on implementing outcomes from the recent Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum. He also stressed the potential for further practical cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Crown Prince Hassan, in turn, conveyed King Mohammed VI's warm welcome and expressed satisfaction with the momentum of the bilateral ties amid growing Chinese investment in Morocco's infrastructure, including railway sector and electric vehicle battery manufacturing.
